# EGLD Tokenomics Debate

Hi guys,

What do you think about the EGLD tokenomics ?

Can it be improved during bear and bull markets cycles (making it adaptable to the demand of the token like the number 2 of the market) ?

I mean, sort of, it already is.

More demand = less inflation  
Much more demand = no inflation  
Little demand = inflation

But over the years, inflation will go down and down

This is already the case with current tokenomics.

There is a fixed inflation that decreases every year but is also offset by usage/adoption. So the full amount will never be reached and hopefully is replaced by protocols fees sooner rather than later.

The picture helps clarify it.

Governance proposals can potentially be used for altering this in the future if needed though.
